About
|
15-year-old Jake has been racing for five years, starting out in WTP Cadets and then moving on to Junior TKM,
gaining in confidence all the time. In his first year in Super One (2005) he finished 10th overall, despite
racing with a broken arm for part of the year! He went on to finish fourth in 2006 and won the O Plate, but
in 2007 dominated the class by taking the Super One, O Plate and the TKM Festival along with club championships
at Shenington and Whilton Mill.
This year Jake has moved on to the new KF2 class, which is just one level below karting's ultimate level of KF1
and at the time of writing hasn't yet lost a race! He's racing in the Super One again after a difficult start
is now back on the podium again.
In the future Jake wants to race in single-seaters, and at this rate the sky's the limit, but as a backup he's
studying for his GCSEs at Oakwood Technology College in Rotherham and preparing to study motorsport at Oxford
& Cherwell College.
Outside of racing he enjoys snooker and swims regularly to keep fit, but his favourite method of relaxation is
painting helmets for which he is rapidly gaining in popularity.
